Our Environment

Outcome
Gardening is a wonderful way for children to have fun while gaining important knowledge and skills.
From nature appreciation, learning where food comes from, to teaching responsibility, and feeling a sense of accomplishment will all build out the Gardening artistry,
Sessions will tap into students' natural sense of wonder and curiosity, motivate them to get outdoors, inspire a connection with nature and consider the planet in their actions.

Objective
Utilising play, exploration and fun, children will get their hands dirty with basic gardening activities (outdoors where possible); from seed sowing, planting, to growing food from kitchen scraps.
The young gardeners will also explore the outdoors on a scavenger hunt - challenging observation skills and creativity. Joy and connection with environment, are at the heart of this gardening experience.

Specialist Teacher

Zarina is a self-confessed gardening enthusiast who dabbles in growing organic vegetables and exploring sustainable food sources. She loves that gardening offers an amazing form of therapy that calms a busy mind and provides an invigorating space to find balance. A marketing communications specialist and adjunct lecturer – her day jobs - much of her free time is spent experimenting in her own garden or at her neighbourhood garden where she is a core member, as part of the Communities in Bloom national initiative.
She believes with gardening, you’re always learning new things and just when you thought you got rid of all the garden snails that devoured your seedlings overnight, nature teaches you something else!
